My wife and I wanted to mention how we are absolutely 100% satisfied customers with the remodel work that United Construction provided. Bill makes it so much easier. Bill has a great attitude and he actually works for "you". That can be sometimes hard to find these days.
We interviewed 6 contractors for the job searching for the best workmanship, material and price. Our remodel included the kitchen, living room and an add on 240 SF entertainment room. Bill provided a detailed blueprint along with the necessary permits.
Bill went above and beyond our expectations. To this day, my wife and I still marvel what an excellent (brilliant) job Bill and his team provided. Thank you Bill again and again.

We picked 7 Contractors from the Better Business Bureau site for our huge renovation We prayed to God to send us an Honest and fair contractor that will not take advantage of us. It is a stressful process of trying to find a contractor that you can trust and work with to get the result you paid for. God sent us Bill Feilen at the last minute. Bill was a God sent. Before he decided to take on the project, he asked permission if he can walk around, We took him around and through the house and he started telling me what he will do to prevent water from coming into the house if we have heavy rain. I was impressed because once in a while the back corner of our family room will flood when we have heavy rain. Before he changes anything that will improve the layout of the house, he would call me to come over after work to go over some of the suggestion that could improve the outcome of the project, but of course it was my decision. Bill makes sure the line of communication stays opened between him and I which I appreciated because of my limited time. Bill let me know when the Inspectors were coming and explained what will be inspected and the reason for the inspection. He suggested a lot of great improvement to the whole house and as long as they are within the legality of the permit and within my budget, I was ok with it. He always said to me, “I have been a contractor for a long time. I build my clients home as if it is my own home”. He knows my mother was an elderly person with limited mobility and he suggested rails and a built-in place for my mother to sit in the shower. Safety for my family was his main priority. He is a hands-on Contractor who takes pride in his work. He works alongside his men. We love our beautiful new home and our neighbors as well. I recommend him to my friends at work. It started as my wife’s wish for a multi-room second story addition and also with my wish to upgrade the rest of the house. I am retired and wanted to avoid house concerns for the near future. After the extended permit delays, what we needed was some good luck. Bill and United Construction were our jackpot. Thank you for providing us your great quality work. You and your work crews did outstanding work over the entire house. Your construction skills and dedication are probably among the best that can be found. With so many changes made we always appreciate the feeling of new. The neighborhood also has a very good impression of what you completed. The addition Bill the owner of United Construction built for us is amazing from start to finish. Right from the beginning he provided an upfront estimate with a detailed design plan that we envisioned without requiring any deposit. This was so refreshing to find someone who still practiced this.His estimate did not exceed what was presented it was spot on. He provided a detailed payment schedule up front so there was no surprises. Bill is very easy an pleasure to talk to an joke with plus he is a good listener. He actually listens to what you have to say and will give you ideas that would enhance the project. Example he suggests a solar tunnel in a room at times it looks like someone left a lite on. No regrets on that. I’m glad we used United Construction. I would strongly recommend United Construction without any hesitation to anyone who is looking for a contractor that has integrity and takes pride in his craftsmanship and that is fair in price. United Construction fulfilled my home addition vision with quality and integrity so hard to find these days. Bill was fantastic with upfront quotes and a detailed design plan before any payment was due. This was significant because I could not find that anywhere else. The floor plan and estimates were detailed and the accuracy was on point. The vision I had was drawn out in detail by Bill along with his ideas that enhanced the plan. I had a family room, two bedrooms and a bath added totaling 800 square feet. The estimated cost up front was accurate and did not exceed which was absolutely key to why I feel Bills company is a step above the rest. Going in to a remodel I could not get an accurate estimate or floor plan with any company without first putting in a non refundable deposit. Where as Bill came over and laid out the plans on my kitchen counter detailing and explaining everything along with a detailed cost breakdown and timeline of payments. It was so reassuring and along with all the excellent referrals from friends that had their remodels and additions done by him it was an easy decision to go with Bill. The addition exceeded my expectations, it is absolutely beautiful and Bill was a pleasure to work with. He made everything smooth and timely, it was an easy transition living in our home while construction was going on, we were not disturbed or disrupted in any way thanks to Bills planning and consideration of my family’s needs. Bill and his crews do incredible work. The two-car attached garage that they built for us is absolutely beautiful. It fits so well with the house that it looks like it has always been there. So much extra work was required to secure our permit, but Bill stuck with it, persevered, and made it work. Bill is definitely "hands-on" and was always onsite to do the work himself, or oversee a crew. The finished product is top notch quality. I highly recommend United Construction.

United Construction has been doing work for us for the last 3yrs. When we have a project we call Bill. He has done a 700ft addition with bathroom. I can’t say enough about Bill, owner of United Construction and his workers. If you are looking for a competent, honest, reliable, professional contractor who actually knows what he is doing look no further. When I contacted Bill, it was to fix my bathtub which had a misaligned overflow drain due to a prior bathroom remodel by another contractor. Bill was able to fix it by going through my garage wall instead of having to remove the bathtub which I was told by other contractors and plumbers was the only fix for the problem. Bill has done several remodeling projects in my home and I am extremely pleased with the results. I am very impressed with his creativity in coming up with easy fix solutions as well as how meticulous he is about his work. He has a passion for what he does and it shows. I am so thrilled I found a contractor who I can trust and does the job right. United Construction comes highly recommended and is the only contractor I will ever use.

I recently had Bill, United Construction, remodel/rework my ‘patio room’. The room was an enclosed aluminum type structure that was falling apart. I wanted it changed to be a more permanent and stable part of the house. When he came to do an estimate, he knew exactly what needed to be done, offered suggestions on how to handle some of the challenges and was totally open to working within my budget. During construction I was able to see the new structure from the inside out and was very impressed with the quality and professionalism of the workmanship. The structure is definitely built to last and I attribute this to Bill’s knowledge and dedication to do things properly. He knows his business and helped me a great deal through the process by being fair and honest. During construction Bill always kept me in the loop, and never failed to answer any questions or concerns I had, no matter how insignificant they were. Over the last 15 years United construction has done all my construction needs. I have 3 homes which he has worked on from writing to concrete and everything in between. Bill has done a complete remodel on one of my homes. He wants remodeled and upstairs one bad Room rental and his suggestions were such an improvement on the rental that the tenant still lives there to day and loves it. Yes such insight of the construction industry that only experience can provide. Bill has built me a man cave for me at my. Now my daughter and my grand kids live in the house on a enjoy their company. There are a lot of other projects that are too small in nature to mention and it would be another page of work. All these projects I have enjoyed working with bill and his crew. They all go out of their way to make sure that I was happy with what's being done. He is very fair with his prices. I have gotten beds from other contractors. Is price has been sometimes higher but usually lower. It's the comfort of knowing that the work will be done with quality and care with respect to my needs that has left me satisfied every time. In edilean to that I have had with bill I have found him to be very honest and forthright. I highly recommend the team of United construction to anyone that needs to have work done on their home.

Bill built our 2 story house in 1999, from the ground, up. We loved the work he did and still very much enjoy living in the beautiful place he built. As we look toward retirement, we've decided to build another house and rent out the one we're living in. The first and only builder we thought of was Bill! His attention to detail is amazing. He comes up with great ideas that we never would've thought of. He's conscientious about every aspect of the project. He's careful and extremely attentive, easy to talk to, and a heck of a nice guy. He truly cares about making his customers happy. As we are just in the design phase at this time, we're looking forward to working with him again. We hired Bill/United Construction for the add on of our master suite, kitchen remodel and our covered patio. The customer service as well as the finished product was fabulous and beyond our expectations. Bill and his team were great, they were there as scheduled, did daily clean up and were prompt to answer any questions we had. It truly made the experience easy. We couldn’t love our new spaces more, family and friends have been so complementary on the work done. Bill did a family room+master bedroom,bathroom,closet+kitchen for us nine years ago and we were very pleased with his work. To preface, i am probably a customer that most contractors dread. I am an engineer who is detail oriented with a do it yourself attitude. That being said, i do most housework myself. In this case, i hired United Construction because i do not trust myself with major structural changes. United Construction removed a wall, rebuilt a wall adding new doors and windows and moved plumbing within my foundation. All work was professional and well done. While many contractors do good work, below is a list of positives i find rare with contractors i have worked with. 1) open to suggestions and changes. During this project, plans changed and expanded multiple times. Bill (the owner) was very quick to pick up the changes and suggest additional changes. He was also very quick to give me updated quotes and pricing on the extended projects. 2) Bill ( the owner ) was on site a majority of the time, working and supervising the project directly. 3) They used high quality materials on the project, often going above and beyond normal construction permit rules. 4) They kept the area clean and protected the surrounding areas. Multiple plastic tarps were used to keep dust down. They also put plywood down over my flooring while moving materials in and out of my yard. 5) Great communication on a day to day basis.

This review is long overdue. We met Bill Feilen from United Construction in March 2015 while he was building a home in Imperial Beach. We needed much renovation to the outside of our home which included wood framing, windows, new outside covering for our fireplace, stucco, and painting of our two story home. He provided a detailed description of the work to be done, which also included clean-up. Despite the delay in rain, the work was completed in a timely manner. Bill was very professional, easy to keep in contact with and kept us updated on the project. One year later, we are still very pleased with the renovation he and his company completed. We have used United Construction for a few different jobs. Bill Feilen is very good at what he does. We had a Remodel to our home to convert and add an Income Property 1BR unit. The job was for a room addition to our property, which posed a challenge as there was no space to add the room on the ground level. Bill came up with a plan that would work well with our existing layout and also agree with our HOA. The job went well and Bill was considerate to working on a house with people living in it, trying to keep the construction as minimally invasive as possible, and being considerate to our schedule as well. He was also very accommodating to a few additional requests we had of him, as well as pointing us in the right direction for additional services which he did not specialize in. The job was to replace a rickety, old, termite eaten stairway that was the only entrance to my attic apartment. My house is over 100 years old and of the classic "craftsman" style. The final product is not only beautiful, but a safe and secure stairway to a beautiful deck. This has given so much pleasure to me and my family. The addition has been literally life changing. His crew is also very competent, polite, punctual and hard working. I would recommend him and would love to be able to use him again in the future. I have used United Construction for the past 12 years, since we moved into our present house. Bill Feilen and crew have remodeled my kitchen from start to finish. United Construction replaced all of our existing sliding doors with new ones that are energy star efficient. They have replaced everything for us from new bathroom fixtures, plumbing, electrical, dry walling, repairing existing leaks, heating units, AC tile work and new fencing. Bill and his crew are always prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. And if at any time I call Bill for our remodeling needs he comes right over (even after hours) to go over plans and options. When I decide to tackle a DIY project and mess it up, I can call United Construction and Bill comes over to repair my mess. Bill goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable throughout every phase of repair, construction and remodeling, always getting the job done right! He also likes Chocolate Chip cookies!

United Construction has done several projects for me and my neighbors. Bill repaired my sagging roof, facia and eves. That was a huge task and Bill came up with some great methods and materials to get it done. Then he installed a new Energy Star "Cool Roof". Later I had him reframe some sagging floors before we installed travertine. These items increased the beauty and value of my property at a very reasonable price. I'm a retired general contractor and currently working as a California State certified construction inspector and consultant for public schools. To say I'm fussy about construction is an understatement. Bill is always the first call I make when I need something done at home or the ranch. United Construction has done a couple of jobs at my home. United construction, Bill and his crew are friendly, professional and trustworthy. There was a Friday afternoon that was coming to an end and I had a pipe break in my yard,( nothing to do with the work they had been hired for). He and his crew stopped what they were doing and took care of it. This was not a quick fix, it took a couple of hours. I can't tell you how grateful I was because my homes water had to be turned off at the main. They had our home up and running again with no complaints. Bill puts a lot of care, planning and thought into your job. He really wants you to be happy with his work.

United Construction did an excellent job on our remodel and room addition project here in La Mesa. His "hands on" attention to the details really helped to achieve a quality job. United Construction helped plan our room addition and layout and offered great ideas such as the vaulted ceiling and the electrical layouts which proved to be very convenient now using our house. Bill himself was on the job regularly and his crew was courteous and trustworthy. The project was timely, the only delays were on our part as the homeowner trying to make decisions on changes, once we say some of the work. Bill actually drew up sketches, and built a small model and sizing of doors and windows to help us decide on some changes. Bill also had sub contractors such as the plumber and stucco person who we have hired separately since then for other work because of their quality work and good pricing. We are now saving our money to have Bill start a new project for the kitchen remodel and have no doubt that Bill will do the work. He is the only one we trust in this crazy market. Be careful out there, because there are rip offs trying to fake being a contractor and some even have licenses that should because of their shady business practices and poor quality work, In summary, United Construction was HANDS ON and GOOD QUALITY

Bill and his team from United construction were timely in completing both projects. They were neat and clean. Any questions we had were answered and we were well educated on our options. I became aware of United Construction as they had done work on three other homes in my neighborhood. All the homeowners I spoke with were very complimentary of their experience with the company, the workmanship and the personnel. After obtaining a quote, I had them do a major renovation to my 45 year old home. My experience was so positive, I recommended them to friends on several occasions and also had them perform work on my daughter's home. The workmanship was excellent and performed in a timely manner.
